Karmann Korruption is my drag race car running in the VWDRC in sportsman class. I am the owner/driver and it's crewed in its first season by Paul, Chris and Keira. Chris is now my sponsor - Dukes Kustom and Speedshop. Pauls workshop was used for inital build up and he has helped out with alot of the work so far.
The Beginning
I bought it in may 2004, originally to restore and use daily, but it proved to need to much work and money to put back on the road. I decided to build it as a drag car as its something i've also wanted to do and i thought it would be easier than a full restoration.
The above pic was taken in febuary 2005 when i finally took it out of storage to begin work ready for the start of the VWDRC season at the easter thunderball (santa pod) at the end of march. As you can see when i got the car it had some mild custom work already carried out, de-guttered, de-handled and lowered. Also the fibreglass flip front had been semi fitted.
